"Heather is a great vocal coach, technically excellent but, more importantly, sympathetic to the needs of a karaoke singer like me. I needed to ... find my own voice and Heather helped me do that...’’ Justin Lee Collins - (playing Amos Hart in "Chicago" London, West End)

Private singing lessons with me are all about you.

I am more like your Personal Trainer than a musical critic!

I have experience coaching people of all ages and standards of vocal ability, including  those with confidence issues, and people convinced they "can't" sing.

Learning vocal technique one to one you will be able to:-

  • Explore and develop your own voice at your own pace in a safe, supportive, sensitive environment.
  • Learn breathing, projection, increase your range and improve tone quality.
  • Experience individually-tailored training and coaching at an appropriate level
  • Learn microphone technique (if desired) and work on a wide variety of genre, repertoire and styles.
  • Lessons are extremely relaxed and informal (and fun)

Through uninterrupted, focused attention, support, nurturing and encouragement, I help you set and achieve your own singing/creative goals, whatever your starting-point.

We all have our own, unique relationship with our own voice. How we experience our voices, physically, mentally and emotionally are often unexplored.

I work closely with my clients to examine these elements, then, using appropriate vocal methods, move forward in creative and rewarding ways.

Every voice is unique, and every person has their own individual learning style and experience of their own voice.

My teaching methods/techniques are tailored and adapted to suit the singer, their voice and their goals rather than a rigid adhesion to one particular method.

I believe in creating positive, happy associations with singing. Connecting  practical technique with a relaxed body and a sense of wellbeing!"

Our relationship with our voice is very personal.

Like "body image", many people experience issues, beliefs and feelings relating to their "vocal image" that can be traced back to early years.

It can be important for many people to explore these beliefs as part of their vocal development.

We start by exploring any vocal history you may have - if any, uncovering your goals and working towards them at a pace that suits you. Some people find that accessing their voices helps with other areas of personal development, which can deeply enrich their lives.

As a vocal coach, I work with actors and musicians in the public eye, as well as with many people whose singing is an important part of their life.

Current students come from a variety of backgrounds, amateur and professional, from West End, international TV & film/record industry to people starting completely from scratch.
